I also get the feeling this was the price for three hours.

I was told one thing and another about shifting over to evening rates from afternoon free time, but I didn't really get it.

Well, I just won't go at that time any more. (^^;) The prices at twilight are scary!

Considering the cost of living there... 2000 JPY could get Kogasa-san 3-4 meals at a cheap restaurant. Or 2 if you're aiming for a bit of classy FamiRes- I mean, Family Restaurant.

Well, 2000 JPY sounds like a lot, but it's barely a difference when you're paying 14k...

What the hell, this is way too expensive!! Even 25$ each seems expensive, it would be around 15$ here... I thought karaokes where cheaper in Japan.
140$ would be worth like 8 hours in the karaoke I go. I'm still astonished

Roughly, 100 yen is equal to $1. 14,000 yen is roughly $140. Tani-san and Osatou-san gave him about $25 each. Kogasauthor got left with paying ~$90.

I know that 100 yen is worth more than $1, but it's only by around 2 cents. I'm rounding here to try and provide a little perspective.

I think the karaoke guy caught the Yamame virus, except it seems like he's overcharging by a lot instead of undercharging. Not quite as fun when you're the one that has to pay. It's okay, Kogasa-san, if it's for karaoke, then it's worth it, right?

Kogasauthor thought it's about half of that amount so 2000 is nothing.
