5 years later but it's actually a colt M1900, John M Brownings first recoil locked pistol, chambered in 38 ACP, featuring a very long barrel (the M1905 featured a 5in 1911 length barrel) and only one safety, namely a sight safety whereby the sights could be pulled back to block the hammer.

the US girl is holding the M1911's predecessor which is the M1905 as well as the Borchardt C-93 the Germany girl's holding being the predecessor of the Luger of sorts.

So the third year Russian students have Grachs as their standards whilst the first years of Japan, USA and Germany have venerable weapons such as the M1911 and Luger's predecessors.
