I think that's getting to what's going on... The tag on Yahagi, if I remember, says "over-time" or "after hours", so I think she's been tagged as a a long term prize-drop.

And for many others it's because they simply like the unit. Ask about stats to all those teitoku with Lv 99 maruyu.

For some it was for Collection, but for some others, it was for stats + collection.

2013 Fall event E-5 gives Musashi as reward, and Yahagi drops there at a very, VERY low rate, and the devs decided to extend the event period so that people have more time to farm for Yahagi.

15/17: Not sure what's going on, other than that the fleet seems to have finally leveled up to the point where they can overcome Airfield Hime (she mentions “Musashi” in her text, but the character never appears at any point). I also have no idea how/why they have Yahagi hogtied, or why the Abyssal Fleet suddenly seems to have regained the edge, nor why Battleship-Symbiotic looks so lackluster in the last panel of this...
