I for one am optimistic that the remake will retain the true spirit of the story. I won't mind if Nomura includes the compilation, especially Crisis Core and Before Crisis. Would love to see the Turks from those games make it into the main game.

Despite Nomura's claims this scene will be retained, I can't trust his word with his track record regarding FFVII post-release. I fully expect him to shoehorn in that useless, confusing Compilation of FFVII junk and once again forget Cloud's ACTUAL personality in place of the mopey dullard he's been in everything else.

Personally, I do want the game to end up good or hell even better but the idea of Square Enix finally fucking up to the point of no return is just too delicious a thought to pass on.

It's 2015 and I still enjoy the comedic value of men in drag. I know like every joke it needs to be pulled off right. Then again I was raised with the PYthons who were in drag a lot of times. And they made that hilarious. But I suppose I understand that there is a paradigm shift thanks to certain groups and other such influences.

Also Steak that would be a rather unfair generalization. Not everyone is looking forward to the remake just for the Cloud in Drag. Genuine fans that played the original PS1 would play it for the nostalgia.

Myself I never played FF7, even if I played all the series after that. It just didn't age that well for me personally. With remake I might stand playing it. Call me some graphic snob but I do want a bit of eye candy in my games.

What you're thinking of is the cheap upscaling bullshit they pulled with the supposedly HD PC port of FF7. This time around it's going to be a real honest to goodness HD remake remaster of the old school cult classic!
And yes, they will obviously have to build the game from scratch. With current gen 3D character modeling and CGI and everything. It's going to be glorious!
And about the infamous crossdressing scene, we will just have to wait and see if they'll actually still keep it in or go the save cowardly "politically correct"-bullshit way. And we are definitely not sick perverted fucks just because we want to see Cloud in drag, it's all about the comedic value!
