Yes, it is Grimer. But as I read through the PokeDex entries, Grimer is like I said "harmless".
But FireRed states that Muk can poison someone by simply touching it (I stumbled upon this entry after my comment)
"It is usually undetectable because it blends in with the ground. Touching it can cause terrible poisoning."
But about Grimer, I can't read such a thing^^. So if this would be a Muk, then she'd have a problem.

But still nothing about "poisoning" a person.
