I suppose it's just a nod to Opagi's other work like Shoutoku Coin where Banki is also seen working at Kasen's restaurant (don't ask where the restaurant came from), but that whole element disappears from the story after the first few pages and wasn't strictly necessary to begin with.

That being I said, this story is one of my favorites too. There's not a lot of SFW Opagi stuff out there, but for one reason or another I really love what I've seen.
Levander /users/489400 tag:danbooru.me,2005:Comment/1904924 2019-03-27T10:26:47-04:00 2019-03-27T10:26:47-04:00 @FJH on post #3450039 ( touhou drawn by opagi)
While a really good story, the employment of Sekibanki in the beginning feels like a wasted red herring.
FJH /users/109399 tag:danbooru.me,2005:Comment/1903372 2019-03-21T06:22:08-04:00 2019-12-29T12:24:10-05:00 @KillRoB-XV on post #3450039 ( touhou drawn by opagi)
Praise the translator gods, for they are merciful.
KillRoB-XV /users/472918 tag:danbooru.me,2005:Comment/1903368 2019-03-21T05:49:08-04:00 2019-03-21T05:49:08-04:00 @Maelfactor on post #3450039 ( touhou drawn by opagi)
Fun read.
