BTW, about post #3497803... Just to be sure, Murakumo's mistake is that she ignored/forgot the fact that she's dealing with a prepubescent and thus is too immature/innocent to not only know what "sexual harassment" as well as how inappropiate it is to ask a proper girl like Murakumo what he asked is, but to have any ulterior motives behind asking that question, right?

市街戦 is the Japanese term for "urban warfare" (Japanese Wikipedia link); no real reason to translate it literally as "urban area combat".

When I was really little (like two years old), my favorite movie was Aliens. I liked seeing big guns firing and cool marines. The concept that they were losing or dying didn't occur to me, so it wasn't frighting at all, all I saw was all sorts of cool science stuff and big guns.

When I got a little older, I had enough awareness to empathize with Newt and Jonesey (the cat from the first movie), and would repeatedly ask if the cat was alright (my mother would say he's still back on the station eating cat food), and I'd ask for my mother to fast-forward through the part where there's a face hugger in the room with Newt. The idea of the adults being in danger, however, still didn't register in my brain, so it didn't effect me at all back then.

After that, my favorite movie was Top Gun, but I fast forwarded through all the boring talking parts so I could see more of the airplanes.

By contrast, I remember when the Rugrats movie came out, there was this huge problem with upset very young children because the plot of the movie revolved around the babies becoming lost and looking for their parents. This triggered severe empathetic anxiety among the younger children in the audience, who are much more afraid of being lost or separated from their parents than anything like monsters.

Basically, to a young child, adults are invincible and cool and something in another world from them, so they don't empathize with threats to them the same way that they do with children on the screen.

I had panic attacks from Total Recall. Not because of the extreme violence, but because of the freaky Arnold heads. Practical effects are goddamn terrifying.
