Or what if it's actual retirement and they go on to live lives as ordinary civilians? Think of it, somewhere there's hundreds if not thousands of San Diegos, Pensacolas, or whoever else that happens to be your most frequent dupe drop.

Late reply but... I guess that's something we don't want to think too much about.

In my mind, I like to believe the dupes' minds are linked to the original like Naruto's kage bushin. So, retiring just means their mind is part of the "whole" again.
