The war could be going so badly that her even if they wanted a rescue mission it wouldn't be possible or if they could do it, it'd be so costly in terms of manpower and resources it'd be insane to do.

Truth be told, I wouldn't have recognized her as Kashima if it weren't for 1) the hair ribbon, and 2) the fact that the artist is already known to be a huge Kashima fan.

The dialogue is almost certainly mostly identical to the original post, so if anyone has the spare time to check for what tweaks should be made to match the new version...
