Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. Nagato would be better on the poster, as she was the flagship of the IJN during the Pearl attack.

The ship capsizing in the foreground is HMS Prince of Wales, which was sunk in December 10th 1941 at the Battle of Malaya as part of Force Z. The original poster is celebrating the successes of the Japanese Blitz launched on December 8th (Japan time).

Your statement regarding the operation of these ships at the time is correct.
