First things first pupper sub has such adorable wholesome expressions I hope it stays that way.

As for popularity generally speaking there is so many characters already that unless there is something that really stands out such as unique disposition, appearance, etc they will get little in terms of art. Chances are the muricin bb slated to show up in the EO will explode because of the hair alone.

Also for Jingei she probably isn't "exotic" enough for most, but give it time she has only been known for about a day now compared to Usugumo (months in advance) and Matsu (a fairy and twitter profile picks that showed some of her off days or weeks in advance).

I've heard that large portion of JP community are still against data-mining even for technical purposes (which is where these 'leaks' come from) and intentionally avoid spoiling themselves on the new kanmusus altogether.

I say give it time. Some may eventually get desperate enough to do "summoning ritual by drawing" for the drop ones like Fletcher previously. They might need to do it for Jingei if unlucky, because she is a drop-only.

This. This is the main reason why. The devs rarely ever show off the new girls officially on twitter, at most you're only getting a name or a small teaser. They did do it recently with Usugumo, but it basically never normally happens. I can't think of many other games that do this, it's quite strange.

I think they just prefer to let the news spread naturally through socmeds and fan communities like how it has always been. Usugumo is an unique case because while her Lawson collab merchs are ready, the event that features her was behind the schedule due to covid-19.
