Except these are two different situations. Think of Monty Python as the series here and the other tags as individual titles.

+1, I guess.

It does seem that monty_python is currently used like a normal copyright tag, as in a series tag. Maybe it could have been used to tag the actual MP people instead, but that does not seem to be the case. The post #993485 features separate tags for each person, like john_cleese and others.

Currently, all posts tagged either monty_python's_flying_circus or monty_python_and_the_holy_grail are also tagged monty_python. Is there any example, existing or hypothetical, of a post that should not be tagged monty_python?

If the answer to the question above is "no", then I would think an implication is in order. If the answer is "yes", we may want to discuss further.

If we used it exclusively for tagging the real people, then it’d be confusing as whether to tag posts with them out of character with real_life, monty_python, or both. (I prefer both).
