Tagging of Succubi

Posted under General

I know that we don't tag vampires as such unless we can clearly see the character's vampiric traits, but what about Succubi? I always tag Morrigan_Aensland as a succubus, and am wondering if I should be more selective. Do succubi even have set physical traits besides wings and a tail that set them apart from other demonic characters?

The standard physical traits for succubi are bat-like wings and a tail, but neither are exclusive to them. So I'm on board for that alias.

I'm okay with it too, but we'll need more people to comment in support (or opposition) before I go aliasing a tag with 1,434 images out of existence.

That may be just me but when I think succubus, criteria include normal skin or red/pink skin, and a tail.
If the tail was missing and/or skin was of a different color (like blue or green), I wouldn't count the character as a succubus but still as a demon_girl.
But that's really my personal feeling anyway so YMMV.

I'm not really in support of it, there are issues with it since succubus can be something that is tagged with appropriate information, and not all demon girls are succubi.

There are also images of succubi doing their classic "sucking men's life force through sex" thing. For example, post #66118, post #328062 and post #328057. Such posts are apparently a very tiny fraction of the tag, but since they do exist an alias is probably not a good idea.

Perhaps it should be restricted to images where the succubus is doing something seductive, then?

And certain cases where the character is definitely a succubus, perhaps. Like the Disgaea succubus and Morrigan, but not for originals or "unconfirmed" succubi that just look like demon girls.

That, and images where text unambiguously identifies the character as a succubus.

Not this, though. OP had it right in referencing the vampire tag; that's the model succubus should follow.

Well, it's a little bit of a gray area. I slipped up when I mentioned Morrigan - I meant it more in the case of beings like the Disgaea succubus: she's actually called succubus, so it doesn't seem like it'd make much sense to not tag her as succubus.
