Poor Anya. Still, as a soldier there is nothing more satisfying than to witness a successful kill or some other suppression. One less OPFOR to potentially hurt your own forces. I like how Dutchko doesn't blur or otherwise obscure the gore.
It's funny, Wargame puts a real emphasis on it being just that - a game. The strategic map is much like chess or risk (you move about pieces on a board), and in an engagement, you're mostly just seeing NATO symbols and numbers race around. Your perspective is rarely ever close enough to see any details. The firefights can be quick and decisive and when you visualize them like this, it can be a little jarring. I quite like this one by Dutchko, it's very nice in a roundabout way.
Great, now I feel sorry for all the countless commie mooks wiped out by my troops in Red Dragon.
I've played the Tom Clancy's End war and hearing your forces begging to retreat etc, is really hard to imagine when you are an actual Field Commander and hearing those voices.
