I get the feeling that we, the audience, are suppposed to understand what this other woman/monster is intended to be/represent, but it's not coming through for me. The only things that are coming to mind are cliche ("humanity is the real monster", "the real monster is your own destructive nature") or boring (the Cerulean menace).
