GANON
So! The Legend of Zelda celebrates its 25th anniversary this year! This I did not know until after starting research for this about a month ago and reading more than is healthy on the games and their antagonist. Speaking of which.
I run into sequential art of Link on a very regular basis but his nemesis? Not so much. While Link's reoccurrences are explained as reincarnations, I've always been intrigued that Ganon is (reputably) the same being throughout the series. (I personally treasure the belief that Link to the Past was his awkward 80's phase he'll light your head on fire for mentioning.) Link's brush-ups for each game have NOTHING on what they do to Ganondorf each new round and it was fun revisiting each incarnation, from bright blue boar days to stoic badassery with a beast form like a semi truck.
From left to right...
Link to the Past - 1991
The Ocarina of Time - 1998 (x2)
The Wind Waker - 2003
Twilight Princess - 2007 (x2)
For nitpickers going 'heeey, he was in the Oracle games, Four Swords, and the original game toooo,' I figured one blue pig in robes was more than enough. Also no Puppet Ganon for WW-- didn't feel like that counted.
I grew up with Ocarina Ganondorf so I'll probably always favor that design for him, though Wind Waker's grown on me too.
What are your guys' favorite Ganon(dorf)s?
