Kongou is a good cook, if she sticks to the original recapie. If she experiments, her food goes craz y. Reiji usually allows her to experiment as a punishment for other girls.
I think it's well established that Haruna is the first line of defense against Kongou's cooking. In the same way that ablative armor protects something, that is.

Verniy is just plain lazy. Karaage and vegetable soup are drop-dead easy to make.
Deboned chicken chunks and batter can be bought at any store. Fill a wok half-full with oil, heat it till boiling, dip the chunks in the batter, drop it in the wok and job's done.
