If you only spin the chamber once, you have even chances regardless of whether you go first or second, if the revolver has an even capacity. If it has an odd capacity, you're more likely to die by going first.

That's not how the probability works. At the time the (six-chamber) revolver is loaded, both the first and the second chambers have a 1/6 probability of containing a bullet. When the gun is first fired, the first chamber is observed with a probability 1/6. If the first chamber doesn't fire (p=5/6), then the second will now have a 1/5 probability of firing. However, if the first chamber DID fire (p=1/6), the second has a 0 probability. The final probability is therefore p = 1/5*5/6 + 0*1/6 = 1/6.
I believe that if you go first, you die if the bullet is in the first, third or fifth chamber. If you go second, you die if it is in the second, fourth or sixth chamber. A 3/6 chance and a 3/6 chance. Pretty even to me.
