A video game/visual novel published in 2010 for the PlayStation Portable by Spike. The game has often been described as a mix between Gyakuten Saiban and Battle Royale.
In 2012, a sequel called Super Danganronpa 2 was published, also for the PSP. The first game received an anime adaptation in 2013, and a sequel and prequel anime set after and during the events leading up to the Despair Incident mentioned in 2 in 2016, titled Danganronpa 3. The two animes have a spin-off of their own, Danganronpa Gaiden: Killer Killer, that follows the Future Foundation's work in the midst of the apocalypse. It also has a prequel novel called Danganronpa/zero. A spin-off game named Zettai Zetsubou Shoujo was published in 2014. The third game, New Danganronpa V3, takes place in a separate universe from the Hope's Peak Academy games and was published in 2017.
