An obentou (お弁当 obentou, or 弁当 bentou) is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional obento consists of rice, fish or meat (or tako-san wiener), tamagoyaki, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables, usually in a box-shaped container, and sometimes wrapped in a cloth known as a furoshiki.
