grand theft auto
Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is a sandbox open world action game franchise developed by DMA Design (later becoming Rockstar North) and published by Rockstar Games. The first game that was the kickstarter of the company was released in 1997, which later becomes one of the most successful franchise in gaming history after the release of Grand Theft Auto III (or GTA 3) in 2001 and became best-seller titles.
Each game is set in fictional city (or cities) in the United States based on real life city (except for the London Expansion pack which was set in London). The story is about a criminal who started as minor criminal climbing through the criminal underworld which also includes crimes such as car-hijacking (which is the where the games' name came from), robbery, drugs, prostitution, etc. All of these later makes this franchise became controversial.
Several games in the Grand Theft Auto franchise hold several Guinness World Records such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas that holds the world records for the most voice actors used in the game (862 credited voice actors for pedestrian and character) and Grand Theft Auto V that holds several world record in terms of financial success and profit.
