In the past Kuvshinov has been accused of tracing and plagiarism. Kuvshinov responded to this issue in a Deviantart journal entry.

Image resolution

The resolution of Kuvnishov's illustrations vary across the different platforms he posts them to. Be sure to find the highest quality among different instances of the same exact image. Often an image posted to Patreon or other services is weeks later posted at a higher resolution on Pixiv. Also there is a weekly Patreon reward for full-resolution illustrations that may be available.
