In a way, it wasn't surprising. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in 2003 or so, which I've learned is basically a death sentence. People are actually surprised that he managed to live as long as he did.

Even for people aware of that though [I wasn't] it's still a shock.

No offense, but it seems DA was faster, there are many memorial images.

I don't own any Apple products, but I know a lot of fans are very sad right now. Just upsetting he had to step down, because clearly he loved his job.
