Because this is based on the 2003 show, where May does not exist. Plenty of other characters from the manga/Brotherhood are also not present, because they were not included in the 2003 continuity. On the other hand, the presence of Dante [ the 2003 Big Bad ] , Alfons and the rest of the Shambala gang is a clear visual cue that this is the 2003 series, on top of the fact that it is also stated in writing in the image itself.
