If the Accuracy of the MG42 itself was so bad, then can you explain how Severloh claimed if he could mow down 2000 Allied during Normandy Landing?

Besides the fact hundred if not thousands of men were forced to raid through a relatively narrow location making accuracy irrelevant?

Fun fact: the rate of fire was the actual 'weapon', not the bullets. It's accuracy was so bad that a British soldier charged a 'Spandau' (catchall name for various German machine guns during WWII), dived into what he thought was a ditch to take cover only to find that it was less a ditch and more a very shallow bump in the ground, less than 2" deep. He then spent 45 minutes less than 100 yards away being fired at a couple of times per minute to keep him supressed and not a single round hit him.

Source one
Source two
Source three

Because MG42 has a very high RPM, a short burst by merely a tiny pull on the trigger can usually spew 12-15 rounds.

I heard this is an actual problem faced by German MG42 gunners during World War II (MG42 fires 20 shots per second).
