The only relevant tag for this was 兵器擬人化 - basically anthropomorphic weapon.
I didn't put my money on KC though, because the artist barely has any images for it but, did a number of official characters for the other war girls games.

I like where this is going

I'm tagging this as Kantai collection because -to my knowledge- this came about as a response to how Yoshi created akizuki's outfit.
