Reg was clearly disappointed, but he figured he'd get a chance eventually. The girls were all having quite a time reading through these relics... "Pictographic Alternative History Tomes" was the word Riko was using. As usual, a heavy-handed way to describe what were essentially comics of a world close to theirs, yet different.</p> <p>There had been horror and crying and utter shock in the midst of their all-nighter reading session, but everyone was feeling secure in their reality. For the most part, while the Abyss was still their home, the adventure was still on, and curses did affect people, other things turned out for the best so far. After all, everyone was here, safe and sound (well, mostly).</p> <p>Nanachi and Mitty were indeed taken from their homeless lives abroad to be used as test subjects in the Abyss, but while Nanachi had been caught eavesdropping on Bondrewd's plot, she was dunked into the 6th layer without Mitty, still managing to beat odds and become a blessed Narehate. Almost immediately, she ran off with Mitty for refuge in the 4th layer after that, and they helped Reg and Riko with prudent compassion before Reg could do something as stupid as breaking and cutting Riko's arm to save her. Reg was rather embarrassed to read that.</p> <p>After they reached the Idosphere, Mitty's presence meant that Nanachi was content to not get enticed into a private conversation with Bondrewd to distract her from preventing Reg's abduction. For this reason, Reg still has both his arms intact, but he's now jealous of how adept this fictional one is with even just ONE arm. Even so, he doesn't want to think about the prospects of fighting Bondrewd or entering that state he was in.</p> <p>As it is, Bondrewd has been trying to get his hands on Reg and Riko, but with Prushka now making fast friends with everyone, even she has been working against his interests. Even so, Riko has been awaiting the development of her white whistle, and Bondrewd is certainly working in earnest to find a way to make one for her. Given the rules of the Abyss are the same as in the alternate history tomes, however, everyone fears that the outcome may still end up irredeemable.</p> <p>In the meantime, Ozen got some free time for herself and Marulk, who managed to decisively convince both himself and Ozen that he was ready to dive with them. He didn't manage to convince her, however, that he should get to wear pants while doing so. Ozen now babysits the young team of delvers, making sure Bondrewd doesn't try anything funny, but also helping him figure out what to do about crafting Riko's white whistle.</p> <p>When the group reached the point of Riko's white whistle appearing in their reading, a new air of worry overtook the room... as well as tons of crying, even though Prushka is certainly alright in reality. Both the awkward and painful truths of Prushka's upbringing were still accounted for, even in this version of history. It was as clear as the curl on her bangs and Meinya's zig-zagging smell. Even so, Prushka still loves her father, even though the relationship has become more complex. It's just her feelings.</p> <p>Incidentally, she felt the depiction of her masturbation, even being in a relic, violated her privacy. Reg had his ears plugged and eyes blinded for a period of time.
