From what I remember, the tin-yang orbs had the power to turn into a cat, not that it allows Reimu to.

Those weren't her powers, but the yin-yang orbs' "true power", and they were all silly jokes, not meant to be taken seriously. If they're true then the yin-yang orbs' true power is also to let her turn into a cat at will. But their real power is revealed in Three Fairies: the orbs house the hakurei god and give Reimu the blessing of Youkai extermination.

Besides, it said "eat sweets and never get fat". Didn't say anything about meat and potatoes, which is what all these are.
