</blockquote><p>Given that a large enough black hole will take more than the human lifespan to bring me to a lethal point, that the influx of exotic energies and emissions will likely kill me long before then, and that all the chemical processes/bonds that make up a living body will long be torn apart, I still think the idea of a hyper-nova going off and potentially sterilizing a chunk of an entire galaxy over the relatively local formation of a black hole.</p>

<p>One of the points was to draw more attention to the phenomenon, therefor getting more people interested in learning more. Active galactic nuclei (Seyfert galaxies), Quasars (and the variations depending on where it is facing relative to Earth)...</p>
