Oh, I've definitely done fairly quick reloads before, but it still took minutes, not seconds. It's almost never worth it, though.

I've managed to double-fire by misfiring on the first go and stopping that 0.8-second rhythmic twitch in its tracks.

But I've never figured out how to get back up within an hour besides that exploit.

...Probably because I typically go for 105-135 minute sessions. Anything under 90 minutes is pretty bleh and anything under 60 is a quickie.
