Absolutely.

"Soul-Crushingly Depressing?" ...I'm not so sure.

Out of context, the sight of an aged and dying Reimu is hard to take, sure... but there are by *far* many worse ways to die than this -- peacefully, at the end of a long and happy life, and in the company of a beloved friend. Even Yukari and Suika seem philosophical rather than depressed about it, and are simply grateful for having known such a wonderful person as Reimu. Personally I find it heartwarming, or at least as heartwarming as death can possibly be.
TheKid965 /users/151866 tag:danbooru.me,2005:Comment/814731 2011-05-31T13:44:21-04:00 2011-05-31T13:44:21-04:00 @test1979rg on post #420164 (hakurei reimu, yakumo yukari, and ibuki suika (touhou) drawn by chameleon_(ryokucha_combo))

furinkan said:
Don't suppose there's an archived hard-translated version anywhere?

All 11 strips hard translated:

http://www.mediafire.com/?6ntz5aggsnipl3s
test1979rg /users/343945 tag:danbooru.me,2005:Comment/801702 2011-05-12T04:06:27-04:00 2011-05-12T04:06:27-04:00 @Gambit on post #420164 (hakurei reimu, yakumo yukari, and ibuki suika (touhou) drawn by chameleon_(ryokucha_combo))
MANLY TEARS!!!
Gambit /users/100861 tag:danbooru.me,2005:Comment/735979 2011-02-14T07:35:42-05:00 2011-02-14T07:35:42-05:00 @Nameless_Madao on post #420164 (hakurei reimu, yakumo yukari, and ibuki suika (touhou) drawn by chameleon_(ryokucha_combo))

OmniGman said:
too long

i choose to interpret it like vermilion star jasper day doujin
Nameless_Madao /users/341118 tag:danbooru.me,2005:Comment/667543 2010-11-19T16:05:42-05:00 2010-11-19T16:05:42-05:00 @OmniGman on post #420164 (hakurei reimu, yakumo yukari, and ibuki suika (touhou) drawn by chameleon_(ryokucha_combo))

Justy said:
The myth that PC98 Reimu and post-EoSD Reimu is a different person is fan-made and based ENTIRELY on the fact ZUN used different kanji for her. Alice's history was changed in such a way that it makes no sense from the PC-98 days and many have tried to come up with an explanation, meanwhile Mima and Genji are both supposed to be living at the shrine yet we heard nothing from them when Tenshi destroyed it (you'd think Mima would either trash Tenshi or at least laugh at Reimu). Lots of little plot holes like that is where people get this theory from and to be fair ZUN never officially confirmed it either way.
OmniGman /users/334573 tag:danbooru.me,2005:Comment/664692 2010-11-15T03:33:58-05:00 2010-11-15T03:33:58-05:00 @Feaurie on post #420164 (hakurei reimu, yakumo yukari, and ibuki suika (touhou) drawn by chameleon_(ryokucha_combo))
Wh-wh-Snfx!
Feaurie /users/336900 tag:danbooru.me,2005:Comment/659068 2010-11-07T18:19:57-05:00 2010-11-07T18:19:57-05:00 @Bloodylistic on post #420164 (hakurei reimu, yakumo yukari, and ibuki suika (touhou) drawn by chameleon_(ryokucha_combo))
Damn, that hurts, a lot..
Bloodylistic /users/334102 tag:danbooru.me,2005:Comment/642139 2010-10-18T12:51:34-04:00 2010-10-18T12:51:34-04:00 @YoruKishi on post #420164 (hakurei reimu, yakumo yukari, and ibuki suika (touhou) drawn by chameleon_(ryokucha_combo))
I need to get out of the tragedy of long life pool for a bit, this one made me cry a lot.
YoruKishi /users/107421 tag:danbooru.me,2005:Comment/626911 2010-09-30T16:43:35-04:00 2010-09-30T16:43:35-04:00 @jagus12 on post #420164 (hakurei reimu, yakumo yukari, and ibuki suika (touhou) drawn by chameleon_(ryokucha_combo))
I shed a gigantic amount of manly tears ;_;
jagus12 /users/180258
