(Even though there are plant pokemon, there are clearly non-pokemon plants, after all...) And while there are some pokemon that are fine with having parts of them eaten (in S&amp;M, you can have roserade tea, for example, or slowpoke tails) but even in the games, there are things like fish sticks or sushi for sale in the Thrifty Megamart... and they're presumably not ALL magikarp. </p><p>It seems to be a necessity that there are non-pokemon living creatures just to have a food chain that doesn't involve anyone's favorite pokemon being the at the bottom of said food chain, but at the same time, they want to depreciate the importance of such creatures as much as possible.
