I know these are old comments but I fought against land of carnage archers in Disgaea 3 with raise enemy strength thingy passed as high as it can be. They were so deadly even with my characters recarnated lvls in the 10ks and my actual lvls only 1k higher then theres at the time.

Archers are epic.

Still most people have one for various reasons (getting Bows to S or so); that and they're so cute. I hear Some Archers can use guns (Not sure about D3)

Bows went from being the worst weapon in the game to being average in D3. Male archers have a better innate mability, though.

Well, that might be because they sucked massively in the first one, a little less in the second one and...I haven't tried them yet in the third one.
