One issue is that over the years we have been desensitized by other vastly more adorable images and have thus grown tolerant to most of the images in the early part of this pool.

This is perfect. Fusing an immortal doll (As stated by Komachi, she has no lifespan) with the one known for breaking toys.

Both are pretty looney in canon too and we all know about Flandre’s power, but what about Medicine’s? She literally made YUUKA out of all people cry in her route while the other childish characters ran away, so Medicine Melancholy and Flandre Scarlet actually make a pretty interesting duo together.

If I had to say it in real words, the artist drew a lesson for us: if Beast(us) destroyed Nature, Insects, Birds, and Beasts (the whole ecosystem and us) will all disappear the same way.

And... yeah, this really isn't something that would make it through the mod queue, even a couple years ago when standards were lower. It's not so much that "there's something blatantly off" (although the way the hand is drawn, or the heavily asymmetric breasts get close), it's that it's just a plain low-quality sketch given just a first pass of coloring with an almost total lack of effort to put in shading, and has no real positives to counterbalance its negatives.

The only reasoning I can glean from people trying argue for this image is that they like the character in the anime, not the image, itself, and it's not like this is the only image of this character that exists or will exist.
