That's not a light saber, and he doesn't resemble anything like a star wars character, let alone be Skywalker

The art style is a little too detailed for 1983. I'd be more willing to believe Maria came from an anime made in 1989.

The figure on the right in the last frame is definitely wearing the Jedi symbol, so it seems to be Anakin Skywalker in samurai armor.

There's just something magical about Touhou. It is a genuine labor of love from every angle. In a day and age where video games and franchises are made by corporations looking for a market, Touhou was just a game made by a guy who wanted a shooting game about his little girls, who he calls his children, who really just enjoyed each other once all the shooting was over. There is no fanservice, and a lot of respect is given to every single character, no matter how small. This love shown by its creator makes everything seem so genuine.

Pick-a-waifu/hasubando games like Kantai Collection and Touken Ranbu have tried to emulate its success, and though they've succeeded in gaining popularity, Touhou never had to abandon its roots, never relying on more than just its own merits, because Touhou never has treated its characters as showgirls to exploit. That is why I believe not only that Touhou has a bright future ahead of it, but that it will endure far longer than any of its counterparts.

Can't agree more. Especially the latter paragraph.

To think this series survived for 20 years, majorly driven by the power of fandoms. That's some amazing achievement.
