I wonder how long it will take to ID the arsonist behind the KyoAni tragedy. The only clue to his motive so far is "They copied it" "They ripped me off". It is never fun to be an underdog trying to get by while the fatcats reap the fruits of the seeds he or she have sown but taking action to this extreme is deplorable. So just what is this "original character" that was plagiarized, probably accidentally, that lead a man to murder 33 and injure several more. We will soon find out....

Honestly I would not be surprised if the person never created anything and just imagined that he did. Like one of those people who thinks another person ripped off their idea when the idea was at most only ever a thought in their own head and they somehow think the idea was stolen right out of their brain.
If the guy was actually smart enough to think of some character so ingenious and so brilliant it was worth doing this, he'd thought of doing something to copyright the character or at least put said character up online with the big red "Original Do Not Steal" plastered on it to put some weight to his mouth.
Now not only did those 33 people had to die for no reason, the guy basically ruin any chances of himself every having a career and actually do right by his art that he thought was so important.
He's nothing but just a maniac. It's a shame talented and passionate people had to die to some garbage like this.

I know that in the late 80s/early 90s someone issued C&D orders to a variety of newspaper comics for supposedly ripping off his ideas from his brain. I think it was Gary Larson who brought this up. The guy was I believe schizophrenic, so at least in that case I can't be contemptuous of them because mental illness, especially with psychotic symptoms, can lead to bizarre actions.
It is unlikely that this person who committed the arson has psychotic symptoms due to the isolation and withdrawal, but if he does, it becomes doubly tragic. Its one thing to knowingly inflict harm, its another to do so in a state of inability to process one's own nervous system.
Let's pray this fucker stays alive and well for now, so we'll get to know how and why.
Rumor claims that he is a train buff and the recent Keihan Electric Railway and Sound!Euphonium collab event pissed him off, and he came to avenge this "desecration". Take this with a bucket of salt though. This fuck face is still in coma, gotta wait till police finish their works.
