It's a legacy from the earliest comics, where it was either the artist screwed up or intentionally flipped the colors to mock the Polish, and it stuck.

Not gonna lie the first thing I thought of when reading that was "sounds a bit like tiberium..."
I mean, while technically they're all over the drinking age (and I don't think gensoukyou even has a drinking age), it's still rather jarring to see students and their teacher drinking at the same watering hole...
Also Keine seems to be drinking a lot... but then again, perhaps she needs it after dealing with the lot like those on a daily basis.
