Don't you Meiling fans get a little too defensive about this? There's quite a few "Meiling the brawler badass" works out there, but face it, to most people, she's the lovable goofball who gets slapstick comedy as the staple of her diet.

Yes, quite a FEW. And even when a work with Meiling looks like it'll be serious, nope. There has to be some moment where she's taking the abuse. I wouldn't mind it so much if this happened to her canon; at least there would be a reason for this treatment, but no. It's like the fandom took her name out of a hat and decided to make her the butt monkey. That's what annoys me. Not just with Hong but with other characters too (for example, Kaguya).

It just seems to random. Plus it feels like an overused joke. Abusing this one character over and over isn't really funny anymore.

Well of course if it has anything with Meiling there has to be a stupid, annoying knifing reference....

-deep sigh-

Meiling gets scolded, and if shes injured, get her wounds treated. I remember a conversation about this

Really? Where? :o

And oddly sympathetic, considering that Marisa breaking in often is one reason for Meiling's injuries/lectures

We never know what really happens in canon when Marisa manages to get in.

I wonder why Hong is in the news...

Well, it IS 2012. It's a story in honor of the dragon herself.

Um, is it me or does it look like the artist started to draw Okuu's cape but didn't finish it?

At all.
