You know, I thought that cowlick sticking up from the back of her head in her damaged portrait was simply her hair getting messy, not an actual cowlick.

Now she looks dolphin-like with those "fins": the cowlick and the bangs.

Well we don't seed how her hair looks back there on the non-damaged portrait due the hat being on the way, so it could have always been there.

What disturbs me in both this and original arts is her face. It looks... flattened, like all facial features are positioned on one plane.

Ayanami doesn't have animal ears, and Takao having two sets of ears is an issue specific to Kishiyo as far as I recall, all of the Takao class have double ears.
