I thought about that too. Or onwards Halsey crying(failing funding the Ship to be a museum if am right) when E is near to her end.

I would like to think that she managed to settle down with her commander and they had a family and grew old together.

This gives me more feels than than death of Hood, Amagi, and Bismarck combined.

This post reminds me of the quotes from the book Flags of Our Fathers: 'Your teacher said something about heroes... I want you to always remember something. The heroes of Iwo Jima are the guys who didn't come back.'
