I'm... hoping/assuming that Osanai is making funny faces to joke around rather than anything else. Because otherwise... wat?

If we judge by merit alone, you'll find plenty of people who put in as much effort and give similar results for any industry. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Good marketing works for that reason. You have to find someone that would like you and communicate why they should pick you over everyone else. If not, you're stuck in obscurity. It's the definition of marketing, PR, exposure, and all those weird words. Sure, it gets unfair, but you can't pick everyone.

Also, I don't see why people looking for funny anime girls would care about their ability to sing (or about guys).

Clarification for others because the post makes it sound like it's still ongoing. While the collab ban existed during the start of Holostars, it has long been lifted. While some of the shy holos still keep to collabing with the same gender, the more outgoing ones have no reservations about who they collab with.

Considering how often Fubuki colabs with a certain Holostar, I'd definitely say that ban has been lifted

the "ban" was already removed long ago as some people keep mistaken hololive as a certain "idol agency"

This is mostly YAGOO, since he's made it clear that Holostars and the Hololive idols are forbidden from colabbing for fear of the insane idol psychopaths acting exactly as they do with real idols being within ten miles of male artists. As in, both impotently destroying all their stuff, impotently complaining online, impotently trying to boycott the idols, and then escalating it to stalking the idol, somehow finding where they live and trying to murder them.

well listening to fubuki's old vod while she talked about holostar, it's was more about giving them time to profile them self and build their own followers. So that they don't just get viewers because they are colabbing with a hololive member.
