American Flag Shirt or Dress?

Posted under Tags

I thought about it and think it doesn't really matter.
"Shirt" doesn't really mean shirt, but a lot of different clothes.
(not how the tag was only recently created for Clownpiece, so the name has no special meaning)
It might as well be named american flag "top", because we don't have to be overly specific about that pattern, just like we don't need to distinguish between different kind of american flag "legwear".

For the actual character: it looks like dress + pantyhose.
But in some fan art, the dress is so short, it might as well be a shirt, or an oversized shirt.
And if the dress is so short, the pantyhose could as well be (tight) pants. (or leggings?)

People should of course use the actual dress tag if a character is wearing a dress.

A shirt and a dress are two distinct things obviously and a shirt in this case would be something more like Anzu Futaba's you work you lose T-shirt, which is not the case here. I suggest using tag scripts and change the posts accordingly.

I question the need for this tag in the first place. (country)_flag + flag_print + print_(clothes) is the standard combination of tags. That is one too many tags for regular users, but there's no need to get around that if there's no one other than Clownpiece (or a character cosplaying as Clownpiece) wearing the type of outfit. Only a widespread example like american_flag_bikini needs its own tag.

EDIT: Searching around, there's a flag_dress tag with one example, but there's not much a precedent for using flag_(clothes) (no tag yet for swimsuits or bikinis which are more common). There is one more American example with post #1001432.
