How should the vehicle in post #3871258 be tagged?

I had tagged it as a vehicle and specifically a [logging] skidder before, but it was later changed to bulldozer and the vehicle tag removed. According to topic #12808 something is considered a vehicle for tagging purposes if it transports people or cargo, which these kinds of work vehicles don't do, so are they not to be tagged as vehicles?

Also, I'm confident it's either a skidder or a wheel_loader depending on which end is meant to be the front, but is that 'too much detail' and these things should all be grouped under bulldozer or tractor or forklift?

It would certainly qualify as a ground vehicle, there is a seat for an operator thus it transport a person.

The vehicle tag was considered to broad and was split into ground vehicle, watercraft, aircraft and space craft. Ive been working on emptying the tag entirely but some vehicles are to weird to tag and some posts dont show enough of the vehicle to determine what it is.

Doesnt skidders have large claws to grab the logs? I cant se one in the image. I do agree that bulldozer is a poor fit. Does anyone have a better tag?

Isn't post #3871258 a large rough terrain forklift like the military model described here? If so, I think it could be tagged with both ground vehicle and forklift. Looking up "skidder" does seem to show clawed vehicles. The vertical grid at the front of the vehicle in the image would seem to indicate it's meant to work with pallets and forks.

As for an umbrella tag for construction or utility vehicles, I think that might be a niche worth filling in some manner. Something similar came up in the comments of post #3929196 with respect to agricultural machinery which is like-wise typically very specialized, and yet easily group-able together into one concept.

As I said, I think it's a wheel loader, though front loader might be a better catch-all if we don't want to be overly specific about which type of front loader a given vehicle is. One might anticipate some some overlap with forklift, but the defining difference between the two is the lack of arms on a forklift — the fork section just moves up/down on a vertical track.

'Clam' skidders do have claws, but others simply use chains and a winch attached above a backplate. I'm more confident now that this is a loader, not a skidder, anyway; due to the forklift-style guard frame (which I thought did exist on some chain skidders but now I can't find any examples), and what looks like a tilted-forward steering wheel (common feature to let the user enter/exit more easily) is visible on the end of the cab facing the hydraulics and guard (which would not be the case in a skidder).
