So I don't think there is much need.

I was under the same impression that the Aori/Hotaru tags weren't being overly abused with the inkling tag as well, however, the point that inkling could probably be a race tag does bear some merit. The reason being is that I've seen characters from other series portrayed as inklings, such as post #2130259, post #2228003, etc. So far I've being using the "fusion + inkling + splatoon" tags, but is that the best tagging methodology?

However, I'm still more for Solution 1 myself, the reason being:

That it will be easier tag maintenance

I mean, how many Cirno and Remilia Scarlet posts are tagged with fairy and vampire respectively... hint hint, not a lot

Getting people to tag with the extra tag would probably prove difficult

There is a certain expectation of what people want to see when using the inkling tag

I.e. they want to see characters modeled off of the player character, even if they have altered hairstyles, clothing and whatnot

Having to use the inkling + extra tag to find these posts adds additional complexity

Finally, I'm still against using the inkling tag with the Agent 3 tag, since it seems redundant to tag a single character with 2 character tags. It has been mentioned that it is more like an outfit, so I'd like to make it a general tag like the different outfit styles used in the Idolmaster series. It should even be renamed to Squidbeak Splatoon, that way, when we see posts of Aori and Hotaru wearing the same outfit as Agents 1 and 2, without Agent 3 in the picture, it can be tagged with that as well.

Thoughts?
BrokenEagle98 /users/23799 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/111710 2016-02-05T05:18:03-05:00 2016-02-05T05:18:03-05:00 @user_460797: > NWF_Renim said: > > It's extremely...

NWF_Renim said:

It's extremely shortsighted to use their race as a specific character tag and restrict what can go under it. Trying to tag the Squid Kids with extra would feel awkward as hell, especially since they're the player character.

Regarding agent_3, it's more of an outfit than an actual character, just a regular inkling wearing agent clothes. So tagging inkling for agent_3 would be okay, but not for Aori or Hotaru.
Hillside_Moose /users/85307 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/111690 2016-02-04T14:55:10-05:00 2016-02-04T14:55:10-05:00 @user_460797: The problem is: Inkling isn't really a race-tag...
The problem is: Inkling isn't really a race-tag like elf.
