You can easily recognize both Yuudachi and Shigure's remodeled forms by their distinct hair flaps.

Hmm, ok, I see. So the remodel tag needs a bit of a clean up then instead of adding fix characters (who are already remodeled) into it. Some do not bother even using the remodel tag. For example, using "yuudachi_(kantai_collection) -remodel_(kantai_collection)" still shows results with the red-eyed Yuudachi remodel, not just those of the green-eyed Yuudachi base form.

Well, but it would also kick out other characters with an actual remodel_(kantai_collection) tag (eg. Yuudachi Kai Ni, Shigure Kai Ni...) who happen to appear in these Verniy pics, so I don't think this is a good idea.

Anyway, I do agree that these tags should be left alone, as it allows for more precise tag searching.

I don't really see this since it could be simply be stated in the remodel wiki that there are four characters that imply this tag. This way, the searches have an more exact image what they'll get if they search with this tag and adapt the searching tool by making an minus search like remodel_(kantai_collection) -verniy_(kantai_collection) (<- Would kick out nearly every verniy pic in there).
But I also see this isn't a strong argument since a search tool is here to reach a high amount of pics. The minus function is nice but I'm not really happy with this one either...

I agree that adding the remodel tag to the named remodeled characters would diminish its usefulness as a searching tool. As more characters get visually distinct second remodels it will generally become harder to find any one character. Not adding it to Verniy, Ro and the others will help the tag stay useful.

I agree with named models not being included. It makes certain things harder to search, not easier. See Ryuuhou, for instance, who has another remodel with a distinct appearance. Searching for that form is completely screwed up by an implication.

As obvious as this seems, more discussion actually needs to be put into this. When the tag was created in topic #9920, one of the suggestions was that named remodels should not be placed under this tag, because the tag was primarily intended to cover characters who lacked a name change but had a visual change when they're upgraded. There is also the aspect that the more characters that are placed under the tag, the more it actually diminishes the utility of the tag when performing searches of specific characters, so cutting out characters who don't need the the tag generally improves accuracy for other characters.

As an example, Ro-500 alone would add nearly 1,800 images to the remodel tag that currently has around 9,500 images. Add in Verniy who has about 1,400 images and that'd add around 1,300 more images currently to the remodel tag. Those two characters start accounting for around 24% of all the images under the tag.

If asked this way: I'd say they are cosplaying a remodel. The remodel, as far as I've understood it changes the appearance of the character as well or mainly the appearance.

Just an idea but I just read the wiki page of hibiki_(kantai_collection) and there's stated she turns into verniy after remodeling. Therefore all pics where verniy is depicted, we see a remodel.
There is also stated there are four other girls but I don't know their names.
