Most of the images under <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/metal_gloves" title="This wiki page does not exist">metal_gloves</a> should just be edited over to <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gauntlets">gauntlets</a>. Just because something is a glove and metal doesn't automatically make them <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gauntlets">gauntlets</a> though. For example <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/632435">post #632435</a> and <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/641075">post #641075</a> depict that which covers the hand, but is composed of chainmail/metal mesh, and while I don't think these examples are gloves (they are tagged <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gloves">gloves</a>, but aren't tagged <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/metal_gloves" title="This wiki page does not exist">metal_gloves</a>), I do think they can show that you could have something that is a glove that is metal and not be a gauntlet. Real life modern day ones are used all the time in some industries where workers have to use knives a lot (butchering, cutting up fish and seafood, etc) to reduce the chances of getting badly cut while on the job.</p> <p>There is also things like <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/1744448">post #1744448</a> under <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/metal_gloves" title="This wiki page does not exist">metal_gloves</a>, which is more like a <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/power_fist" title="This wiki page does not exist">power fist</a>, and not something I think qualifies as a gauntlet (not sure if qualifies as gloves either though).</p> </blockquote><blockquote> <p>NWF_Renim said in <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-forum-topic-id-link" href="/forum_topics/12144">topic #12144</a>:</p> <p>-1. I think emptying the tag would be better with a mass editing over to gauntlets. I don't want there to be the misconception that only gauntlets are "metal gloves", especially when things like chainmail gloves exists (<a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/632435">post #632435</a>).</p> </blockquote> NWF_Renim /users/13392 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/113715 2016-04-12T18:49:14-04:00 2016-04-12T18:49:14-04:00 @user_460797: Well, the part that bugs me in the wiki is the... <p>Well, the part that bugs me in the wiki is the "probably" part and the post I've posted doesn't seem to have a crucial part what gauntlets have. </p> user_460797 /users/460797 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/113714 2016-04-12T18:26:07-04:00 2016-04-12T18:27:36-04:00 @tapnek: > Provence said: > > But if that comes... <blockquote> <p>Provence said:</p> <p>But if that comes through: Shouldn't <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/metal_boots" title="This wiki page does not exist">metal_boots</a> imply then <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/armored_boots">armored_boots</a>? Metal boots refer to boots that don't look like they're for combat but are just made out of metal either because of the design of the boot or the boot actually part of the character's foot. I don't know any case where gloves plated with metal are used for anything other than combat.
