There is also things like post #1744448 under metal_gloves, which is more like a power fist, and not something I think qualifies as a gauntlet (not sure if qualifies as gloves either though).

Well, the part that bugs me in the wiki is the "probably" part and the post I've posted doesn't seem to have a crucial part what gauntlets have.

It's a bit more than just semantics. Armored boots refer to boots usually used in combat. Metal boots refer to boots that don't look like they're for combat but are just made out of metal either because of the design of the boot or the boot actually part of the character's foot. I don't know any case where gloves plated with metal are used for anything other than combat. Most industrial gloves are made out of other material.

Also the wiki for gauntlets says this.

For tagging, if it looks like a metal glove or mitten, it's probably a gauntlet.

I wouldn't tag post #2236910 with gauntlets. If I read the wiki, they seem to miss that part here:
"A typical gauntlet will have a cuff that partially extends over the forearm with a flared opening suitable for use in conjunction with other arm protection, such as vambraces"

From the looks of it, the majority of the posts tagged under metal gloves are just gauntlets, with some of them looking more like vambraces.
