Medium/normal ponytail could get confusing as it cold be seen by those who don't check the wiki of every tag as meaning medium length rather than or as well as middling position on the back of the head.

Is there a normal ponytail? I've never seen one, if so. Ponytail is the umbrella tag for all of these, as it's a category... and that leaves medium ponytails for just behind the head, below the crown and above the nape?

This is pretty much the same process then we did with the breasts tag then.
Breasts for all, but with specific sizes. Here pretty much the same: Ponytail for all and with specifications for each position. So the only thing to do here is to find a new tag for the "normal" placed ponytail.

I'm deeply wary of supporting implications for tags that lack wiki pages with definitions. Especially when I'm not entirely sure of the purpose of those tags. What are wide ponytail and long ponytail if not replacements for ponytail big_hair and ponytail long_hair searches?

Also, if high ponytail implicates ponytail, shouldn't low ponytail do the same?

Side ponytail and wide ponytail should be their own thing and not implicated. The others I'm ambivalent on, because they could be used to describe a side/wide ponytail.
