Tried to search loli, got a ton of pages, but they were empty. No images. Other search pages only have 4 to 8 images. My blacklist is empty, and there's no other settings that I can find that would affect this. Help?

Images with the tags loli, shota and toddlercon are not viewable by accounts below gold level.

That doesn't really make much sense, but okay.

AFAIR deleted posts are also hidden this way, unless you set "Filter deleted posts" to yes in advanced user settings.

It's a bit of an age gate - to pay for a Gold or Platinum account, you have to have the ability to pay with a method that does some basic checking to make sure you're not a teenager looking for something.

If memory serves, this rule originated when Danbooru was supported by ads, because most advertisers are loath to put their products on web pages with underage sex/nudity. Requiring users to pay to view such content offset the loss of ad revenue from those pages.

Nowadays, it persists alongside other perks as an incentive for you to upgrade your account.

It's not really intended as an incentive. That sort of content is highly objectionable to a lot of people and I don't want this site to be considered some sort of destination or target for it.

Also in the unlikely scenario where this site has to run ads again, that content would have to be banned so it's better to just ban it now instead of taking it away in the future and angering users.

I thought it already was since Gelbooru's just a trash heap of ads anyway. It's just easier than Sadpanda to get into.
