Recently the DText version has been upgraded, and with it several new DText shortcuts have been added.

With the latest site update, OR modifiers are now supported with blacklists. This allows for multiple lines to be collapsed down into one, which saves on processing time and makes the blacklist process more quickly on page load.

Simple groupings

Before:

nude
topless
bottomless

After:

~nude ~topless ~bottomless

Complex groupings

Before:

male_focus nude -1girl -multiple_girls
male_focus topless -1girl -multiple_girls
male_focus bottomless -1girl -multiple_girls

After:

male_focus ~nude ~topless ~botomless -1girl -multiple_girls

Non-available groupings

If there is more than one requirement term though (tags without "-" or "~"), then those lines cannot be combined with other lines.

Before:

nude -rating:s
nude breasts -rating:s
ass -rating:s
ass cameltoe -rating:safe

After:

~nude ~breasts ~ass -rating:s
ass cameltoe -rating:safe

With the latest site update, users can now manually refresh the counters on their profile if they believe that they are wrong (issue #3757). The function "Refresh counts" is found at the bottom of the Users section on the Site Map. Currently this only refreshes uploads, post changes, and note changes, as most of the others seemed accurate during investigation.

With the latest site update, uploaders can no longer see flags on their own uploads regardless of their user level (ref issue #3349).

Edit:

It was made known to me that the above is not clear, so I'll explain further.

For all flags, users cannot see the flagger's name or ID if they are the uploader, regardless of user level
For flag searches on a particular ID or username, the entire flag will be hidden if the user doing the search was the uploader, regardless of user level
Normally, only moderators and the users themselves can search for flags by their ID or username

Note to all Builders!!!

With the resolution of issue #3282, the delete/undelete pool functionality has now been granted to this level. That should help move along a lot of the pool gardening that needs doing, in addition to making requests to topic #8282 being more responsive.

With the latest update, use of fragment-only links with DText are now possible.

So instead of...

...you can instead use...

Only useful when the fragment link is on the same page.

It is highly recommended when used on wiki pages to link to another place on the same wiki page. The reason being that wiki pages are also viewable from the posts page after doing a single tag search, and any links that aren't fragment-only links will take the user to the wiki page instead of remaining on the post page.

By the way: It would really be nice to let the uploader finish the tagging before adding further tags. That mostly happens with copyrights and characters and maybe some other tags. Because the original uploader is going to add the tags anyway (especially copyright and characters, unless they put the corresponding request tag.
The only thing such behavior does is creating a DMail by the DanbooruBot that reminds you to add the kantai collection or the saber tag...

I've a question regarding the bad_anatomy and other tags like this:
If the DanbooruBot is sending such a DMail it would sound a bit weird that the uploader should consider this tag for their uploads.
Instead, if an user accumulates too many bad_* tags, should the message be that they should take more care about their uploads?

With the latest commit, a Related Tags page has been added to the Tags menu, which accomplishes the same functionality as when editing posts without having to edit a post, i.e. returning the top 25 tags related to the search tag either in general or by certain tag category.

This is in response to issue #2750 created as a result of topic #13349.

I agree with Apollyon here. Certain tags are really easy to forget. I had a time when I forgot to add the sex tag, because they seem so..natural to add that I think I've already added that tag.
So for this tags that are in normal usage...1girl, solo, looking at viewer, blush, I think that the threshold should be pretty high.
Besides, what it is with vandalism? Like, if a user is adding pointless tags to your uploads and then you would get a DMail that you shouldn't forget to add this? Maybe this should stay open, because that way vandalism can be easier tracked down if such a DMail would go to a moderator.

No, I may not have put these on every single upload, but it's not because I didn't know about them. Sometimes, they're just forgotten.

I'm with Provence on this. Nobody likes being nagged. Making it easy to turn off or ignore will just ensure nobody uses it. The criteria just need to be tweaked to make it less spammy.

Also re: common tags like 1girl / solo, here's a PROTIP: put them in your frequent tags list under your settings. I do this so that I have a checklist of all the most commonly used tags I can run down when I'm tagging.

Yeah, it would be the same as hiding a regular DMail. Then you have next to "My account" a () notice.
Like if you have one hidden message, then it says "My account (1)".
But wouldn't that require (a lot) of programming? Makes me wonder if that's actually worth the effort.

I don't mind it, but perhaps it would be better if it wasn't so obtrusive with the DMail notice. If there were two or more types of DMail levels similar to how regular e-mail has High and Low importance indicators (at least Outlook does). With a Low importance, the message notice would not get flashed, however the "My Account" indicator would still show that you had unread mail.

Is it more important that there is a device that helps improving tagging (I assume that is the purpose) or that users are left alone with their tagging, but could possibly miss out some (crucial) tags?

Perhaps, but it sounds like some want to be able to turn this off anyways. I imagine that capability to opt out will eventually get integrated for certain levels of users, and the weakpoint of the DMail filter will be ironed out if desired. Until then, it gives those users that would have opted out anyways a means to do so until one gets officially provided.
