I will be doing some gardening of the sex tag so that there aren't any images that would be more suitable for the imminent_* or after_* groups. Any assistance would be appreciated, but there are some things to consider before starting.

• First off, the search I'm using is sex -vaginal -anal to filter out the correctly tagged images. I'm going from oldest to latest.
• If a proper sex image doesn't have vaginal and/or anal, please add them. This will denote what type of sex is being portrayed.
• If there is *_object_insertion, paizuri, or oral sex occurring without vaginal/anal penetration, please remove the sex tag.
• I'm not quite positive if tentacles count as an alternative to penises however.
• There may be some dubious images where you can't tell if it's vaginal or anal. For a male partner, it's always anal. For a female partner, I would most likely go with vaginal unless there's some disagreement, or some kind of tag is made for these ambiguous circumstances.
• For the imminent_* groups, please add imminent sex or imminent rape, then follow up with imminent vaginal and/or imminent anal. Sex/vaginal/anal can also be present in the same image if both the imminent and actual penetrations are portrayed, such as in a comic.
• Same idea with the after_* groups, those being after sex or after rape, then follow up with after vaginal and/or after anal. Sex/vaginal/anal can also be present in the same image if both the actual penetration and the aftermath are portrayed, such as in a comic.

This is to edit out the non-sex images, while categorizing the proper sex images as anal and/or vaginal. After categorizing those, then it's a simple matter of adding in other tags like sexual positions and actions. I've gone through all sex images and added in mating press and reverse_suspended_congress full_nelson, but it'd make life easier with other sex-related tags if the sex tag was gardened.

+1, sex is often mistagged so it could use some gardening. hetero, penis, censored, pov and group sex are some other associated tags that are frequently forgotten.

I'm not quite positive if tentacles count as an alternative to penises however.

Yeah, I don't know about tagging tentacles as sex either. There's a fair number of posts tagged as tentacles sex, but I don't entirely agree with that. Is there a reason we don't have a tag specifically for tentacle sex?

I did find the penis tentacles tag just now, which has no definition or implications/aliases whatsoever. I'm assuming that they're tentacles with arms greatly resembling penises, compared to tentacle arms that are just slimy in appearance or belong to actual cephalopods.

Would we want to make a clearer distinction between penile tentacles and your run-of-the-mill tentacles, or are they virtually all the same?

IMHO, I would think that tentacles would be foreign objects, but the penis tentacles tag makes this discussion even more complicated now that we have penile vs. non-penile tentacles. I would like to go with some kind of separate tentacle sex tag as a placeholder until we sort this out.

Going through my uploads, I think I never added vaginal or anal because, while it's definitely sex, the specific kind was either hard to tell or offscreen. I am finding ones that I clearly missed though.

Im assuming implied_sex is standalone and should be used with sex right?

That's what I was thinking at first, but then I was wondering if there could be some sort of ambiguous penetration tag made so that it indeed does portray sexual intercourse, but you can't tell which orifice is being penetrated due to the angle of the image. I wouldn't think implied sex would work here because in this tag, sex is fully visible rather than implied, but whether it's vaginal or anal is what's debatable here.

The wiki for implied_sex says that, "There are other visual cues," but at the same time, the sex wiki says to use that tag, "Only for actual vaginal or anal penetration." I'm guessing that you have to actually see the genitalia being penetrated in order for it to qualify as sex on Danbooru. As it stands now from my point of view, implied_sex would not be used together with sex unless both are being portrayed in the same image, like a comic.

Similar *_sex tags like kneepit sex, thigh sex, group sex and so on are misnomers because while the word 'sex' is being used, they really don't count as sexual intercourse like vaginal and anal do. I think that implied_sex would fall under this misnomer as well.

Does penetrative fingering ever count as sex? I would normally say no but when it's the only explicit act (e.g post #1191138), I start to have second thoughts.

It doesn't. It's considered sex when a penis is inserted, as you would see in the wikis for vaginal and anal. Fingering is simply a sex act.

I did some digging and found that we did in fact have a tentacle sex tag, at least for a little while. If you check out the tag history of @FetishFuel you will find that for some reason they removed this tag from the following posts:

Personally, I'm in favor of restoring tentacle sex since we lack any other good tag for it. Tentacles don't fit sex or object insertion but are commonplace enough that they definitely need some kind of tag.

That was a stumper for me for a while especially since it occurs so frequently, yet it doesn't fit with sex in the strictest sense, nor are tentacles considered inanimate objects. I agree with there being a tentacle sex tag to cover this.

Just letting you folks know that I got the tentacle sex tag up and running with the appropriate wiki changes. If there are any objections before I begin populating it, say them now.
